Mike Breske, defensive coordinator at Montana, is the choice of Washington State football coach Mike Leach to assume the same position at WSU, according to reports.

FootballScoop.comreported the hiring, as did the Spokesman-Review and Cougfan.com. WSU’s staff is believed complete, but Leach has indicated he wants to announce it en masse after the American Football Coaches Association convention this week.

Breske has done two tours at Montana, the first under Joe Glenn from 2000-2002. He was defensive coordinator under Glenn from 2003-08 at Wyoming, and after Glenn was dismissed, he was at North Dakota State for a year before moving to Montana.

Before the first Montana stint, Breske was at Northern Colorado for 13 years, most of it under Glenn. The school won two NCAA Division II national titles in that span.
