For the first time since leaving practice with an injury on August 8, Washington State’s 1,000-yard receiver, Gabe Marks, returned to full action in Thursday’s practice, Jacob Thorpe of the Spokesman-Review reports.
Marks has been limited in practice for the last week, catching balls on the jugs machine and working with the strength coaches off to the side for most of practice time. But he was back in full swing Thursday, working with the receivers and even lining up as a punt returner.
It appears as if the injury he suffered last week was minor.
In Marks’ absence, freshman Isaiah Johnson took most of the first team reps at Z receiver, but the tenacious senior said he’s already working on earning his reps back from the freshman.
“He’s playing really good. He stepped up when I went down,” Marks said of Johnson. It’s good to be practicing and getting back out there.
“I want to earn my spot, I don’t like getting stuff just because, I want to work for it and stuff. … Good to come back out here and try to help the team.”
