Vita Vea headlines the group from UW.
Projected first-round draft pick Vita Vea headlines a group of seven Huskies who have been invited to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine, scheduled for Feb. 27-March 5 in Indianapolis.
Joining Vea are LB Keishawn Bierria, RB Lavon Coleman, TE Will Dissly, WR Dante Pettis, C Coleman Shelton and LB Azeem Victor.
Vea’s combination of size, speed and strength makes him one of the most intriguing prospects entering the combine. Most project the 340-pound defensive tackle as a lock as a top-20 pick.
ESPN’s Todd McShay, in his latest mock draft published Tuesday morning, has Vea going 16th overall to the Baltimore Ravens.
Pettis is a potential second- or third-round pick who could surprise some scouts with his speed.
Victor’s showing at the combine will be worth following closely. Once considered a fringe first-round prospect, he suffered a broken leg late in the 2016 season, and then had a tumultuous senior season in 2017, concluding with a season-ending suspension in November.
