The Huskies will get a break from late-night kickoffs.

Washington’s homecoming game against UCLA on Oct. 28 has been scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. start, it was announced Monday.

The game will air on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC.

The No. 12 Huskies (6-1, 3-1 Pac-12), idle this week, opened the season with seven consecutive games that began at 5 p.m. PT or later. That prompted UW coach Chris Petersen two weeks ago to express frustration at the frequency of the late starts, which then drew some sharp pushback from ESPN.
