A 6-foot-5 receiver, Hunter Bishop will join UW as a preferred walk-on.
Hunter Bishop, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound wide receiver from Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif., announced his commitment to the Huskies on Tuesday night. He said he will come to UW as a preferred walk-on.
Bishop is the younger brother of former UW center fielder Braden Bishop, who was selected by the Mariners in the third round of the MLB draft in June.
Like his brother, Hunter Bishop was also a standout outfielder in high school — he was named to the Under Armor All-America team this year — but the plan “as of now” is for Hunter to focus only on football at UW, Braden said on Twitter.
Here are Hunter’s hudl.com highlights.
Wide receiver is a priority for the Huskies in this recruiting class. They have one scholarship receiver, Aaron Fuller, committed for this class, and they are pursuing others, including four-star Javon McKinley from Corona, Calif.
