  • The Golden Nugget on Friday released some very-early college football “Games of the Year” betting lines, and it’s worth noting that Boise State opened as a 13-point favorite over the Huskies — before the line soon changed to 8.5. Indeed, 13 seemed awfully high. Chris Petersen returns to Boise for the Huskies’ opener on Sept. 4 (7:15 p.m. PT, ESPN).
  • Three other UW games make that Golden Nugget list: UW is a 19-point underdog against USC (and former UW coach Steve Sarkisian) for Oct. 8 matchup in Los Angeles and a 15-point underdog for the Oct. 17 game against Oregon. The Huskies are listed as a 4.5-point favorite in the Nov. 27 Apple Cup.
  • In case you missed it Sunday, Jayson Jenks has an excellent profile of Jake Heaps. UW, Heaps admitted, was always his dream school.
  • One-time UW recruiting target Tate Martell, now listed as a five-star prospect by Scout, is still being pursued by Sarkisian. Martell says his top three schools are Alabama, Texas A&M and USC.
  • Expansion in the Big 12 is inevitable, ESPN reports.
