An 8-foot, 6-inch statue, weighing approximately 500 pounds, will be unveiled in the northwest plaza outside Husky Stadium on Friday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. The ceremony will be hosted by the Voice of the Huskies, Bob Rondeau, and will include remarks from athletic director Jen Cohen, UW legend Warren Moon and former coach Gary Pinkel.

It was announced earlier this year that the the effort years in the making would finally come to fruition, honoring the legendary coach who died in 2013. The university commissioned Illinois artist Lou Cella, of Timeless Creations and Fine Arts Studio, to sculpt the piece.

The ceremony will be open to the public. If you can’t make it, we’ll be live streaming the ceremony on The Seattle Times Facebook page.
