Scouting report: Washington captured its first true road win with a 69-53 victory at Utah on Thursday. … Nahziah Carter scored a career-high 18 points and David Crisp had 17 points and 5 three-pointers against the Utes. … UW is allowing 60 points and 39.4 field goal percentage in Pac-12 games, which ranks first in the conference. … Led by Tyler Bey’s 26 points, Colorado rolled over Washington State 92-60 on Thursday to snap a two-game skid. … The Buffaloes are 7-0 at home. … CU’s Bey and UW freshman Jamal Bey are cousins. … The Buffaloes had an 8-1 record, but they’re 2-4 in their past six games that included road losses at Arizona (64-56) and Arizona State (83-61). … CU sophomore G McKinley Wright is second in the league in assists (5.5). … Colorado is averaging 69.7 points in Pac-12 games, which ranks 10th in the conference.

Key matchup: Wright is the catalyst for Colorado’s success and it should be an interesting battle of point guards between him and Crisp. Both have the ability to take over games in different ways. Crisp is heating up as scorer while averaging 20 points and connecting on 8 of 11 three-pointers in the past two games. Meanwhile, Wright is a consummate playmaker who has at least 5 assists in 11 games. Also, UW has several defensive options including Matisse Thybulle, Jaylen Nowell and Carter who can seemingly slow down Tyler Bey. The CU forward is second in the Pac-12 while averaging 9.1 rebounds.

Coach: Thad Boyle has a 176-115 record in his ninth season with the Buffaloes. Including a four-year stint at Northern Colorado (2006-10) where he compiled a 56-66 record, Boyle is 232-181 in 13 years as a coach.

The series: Washington leads Colorado 14-11 in a series that began in 1953. … The Huskies had lost two straight games at Colorado before toppling the Buffaloes 72-62 last year on Jan. 20. … UW swept CU in a pair of games last season.

Last meeting: On a night when they retired former UW great Isaiah Thomas’ No. 2 jersey, the Huskies clobbered Colorado 82-59 on Feb. 17 at Alaska Airlines Arena. Thybulle led the way while scoring 24 of his career-high 26 points in the second half. He made 8 of 11 shots, including 4 of 5 from beyond the arc, and was 6 of 6 from the free-throw line. Dominic Green and Nowell each added 11 points. Washington forced 18 turnovers, converting them into 26 points. The Huskies also had a 17-2 advantage in fastbreak points. UW led 39-34 at the break and then outscored Colorado 21-6 to open the second half and go up 60-40 with 11:56 remaining.
