Storm star Breanna Stewart was named WNBA Rookie of the Month for the third straight time, the league announced Tuesday.

For the month of July, Stewart led all rookies in scoring (20.0 points per game), rebounding (9.3), assists (4.0) and blocked shots (2.3). Among all WNBA players, she was tied for fifth in scoring, tied for second in rebounding and was first in minutes played, averaging 35.6 for the Storm in July.

Overall, Stewart, a 6-foot-4 forward, ranks fifth in the league in scoring (19.2), second in rebounding (9.3) and third in blocks (2.1). Stewart has eight double-doubles.

The No. 1 overall draft pick, if Stewart were to win Rookie of the Year, she would join second-year guard Jewell Loyd as the only Seattle draft picks in franchise history to do so.

The Storm entered the WNBA’s month-long break for the Rio Olympic Games in August at 9-15. It is tied with Washington (9-15) for the eighth and final playoff spot with 10 games remaining.

Stewart, 21, is making her first Olympic appearance. The national team began exhibition play Monday as the final preparation for the Games. Stewart scored a layin in the final minute of play against the USA Select Team to help the Olympians win, 88-84.

“I’m just focused on just doing whatever I can,” Stewart told reporters after Monday’s game in Los Angeles. “Whenever I get in the game, I’m making sure I’m producing — whether it’s a rebound or an assist or points — and trying to always bring energy off the bench.”
