The Sounders have some new additions dressed for Saturday’s game against first place Sporting Kansas City, but they will be on the bench to start the contest. Midfielder Victor Rodriguez, fresh over from Spain, and previously-injured Osvaldo Alonso could see action in the secnd half.

But to start, the Sounders will rely on the same lineup that blew out Minnesota United 4-0 on the road last weekend. Not surprising, since coach Brian Schmetzer has badly wanted to throw out some consistent lineups all season.

The last time the Sounders were in first place was July 2015, which promptly launched a five game losing streak for them. A win Saturday and they will be tied for top spot.
