Sounders forwards Clint Dempsey and Nelson Valdez could miss Saturday’s match at Colorado. Valdez left Friday’s training session at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila early, and Dempsey missing the team portion.

“We’re just being a little precautious,” Seattle coach Sigi Schmid said of Dempsey, who has played in every minute of the MLS season to this point. “He’s a guy that’s played enough games. … Right now everything is 50/50 to a certain extent, but we’re hoping he can go.”

Valdez, who has been beaten up for much of the young season and limited in recent weeks, left practice because of muscle tightness.

“He’s also been having some issues,” Schmid said. “He felt a little bit tight right at the end there.”

The Sounders-Rapids match at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park kicks off Saturday at 6 p.m. PST.
