His Redhawks showed patience Friday, and it paid off with a 2-1 comeback victory over visiting Texas-Rio Grande Valley to secure the 300th victory for Pete Fewing as the Seattle University men’s soccer coach.

SU’s first goal came from Hal Uderitz in the 10th minute that tied the score at 1-1.

“We had patience, more patience than we have been against them in the past,” Fewing said. “Noe scored a fantastic free kick, Hal’s header was great, and I was proud of the way the guys played.”

• Washington (13-8, 5-6 Pac-12) lost its fourth consecutive match, falling 25-23, 26-24, 25-22 to host Utah (13-10, 5-7). Lauren Sanders and Kara Bajema each had 10 kills for UW.

• Washington State (17-5, 8-4 Pac-12) posted a 26-24, 25-22, 23-25, 25-22 victory at Colorado (12-10, 4-7). McKenna Woodford had 22 kills for the Cougars.

WHL HOCKEY

Wyatte Wylie scored 21 seconds into overtime as Everett (9-5-0-0) recorded a 2-1 victory over host Moose Jaw (5-4-3-0). Sahvan Khaira had the other goal for the Silvertips.

• Kamloops (4-6-0-1) scored three times in both the second and third periods in a 7-2 rout of host Seattle (6-3-2-0).

CROSS COUNTRY

• The Washington men finished second and the women fourth at the Pac-12 Championships at Stanford. Talon Hull finished second for the UW men. Katie Rainsberger was tops for the UW women in 11th.

• Reign FC forward Megan Rapinoe and midfielder Allie Long both were named to the U.S. Women’s National team that will play two friendlies in Europe.
