• Feb. 25: UW’s Kelsey Plum scores 57 points vs. Utah to become NCAA career scoring leader.
• March 4: Transfer Michael Porter Jr. leads Nathan Hale boys basketball to the state title. Porter later bolts for Missouri. Coach Brandon Roy later gets shot in L.A. and leaves for Garfield.
• March 15: UW fires men’s basketball coach Lorenzo Romar and later replaces him with Mike Hopkins.

• April 3: UW women’s basketball coach Mike Neighbors leaves for Arkansas and later is replaced by Jody Wynn.
• April 3: Gonzaga men reach NCAA tournament title game, losing to North Carolina.
• May 14: Thunderbirds win WHL title.
