After an impressive defensive stand by the Seahawks that pinned the Rams back on their 1-yard line, Lockett caught Rams punter Johnny Hekker’s kick at the Seahawks’ 43-yard line and raced untouched into the end zone to give the Seahawks a 7-0 lead.

Lockett also returned a kick and punt for a touchdown in the preseason. The Seahawks traded three picks to Washington to move up in this year’s NFL draft and take Lockett out of Kansas State with the No. 69 overall selection, and the move already is paying off.

He became the first NFL rookie since 2005 to score a touchdown on his first career punt return in a season opener (Otis Amey, 49ers).
