The Seahawks added Alabama tight end/fullback Robbie Ouzts with their third pick of the fifth round in the NFL draft on Saturday, bringing in another Crimson Tide player after picking quarterback Jalen Milroe in the third round on Friday.

Drafted: Fifth round, 37th pick (175th overall)

Height: 6-3

Weight: 274

Birth date: September 6, 2002

Hometown: Rock Hill, South Carolina

Three Things to Know

  • Ouzts had eight receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns last season in former UW head coach Kalen DeBoer’s first season in Tuscaloosa. He saw time as a blocking tight end and a fullback and is known as an outstanding blocker, particularly on plays near the goal-line.
  • Ouzts was the sixth Alabama player picked in the 2025 draft, and will be the fourth Tide player on the Seahawks’ roster, with the others being Milroe, defensive lineman Jarran Reed, and cornerback Josh Jobe.
  • In addition to football, Ouzts was a swimmer up until high school. His specialty was the 100-yard freestyle, and he holds the Baxter Barracudas swim club’s program record with a time of 1:02.83 in the 100 individual medley.

Quote to note:

“I’d say block, all day. Just opening up and putting my body on the line and seeing another teammate succeed for something that I did, that gives me more satisfaction than catching a touchdown.” — Ouzts when asked whether he would choose to score a touchdown or making a key block to help a teammate score.

What the scouts say:

“Ouzts is built like an ironworker who has a squat rack in the garage. He’s compact and muscular but surprisingly athletic in routes and on move blocks. He can align as a wing and fits up blocks with good technique and balance, but he gets discarded by longer opponents. As a lead blocker he sees the run lane like a running back and adjusts well to strike moving targets. He can run routes if needed and should play on kick return, punt cover and field goal teams. A move to fullback will give him a chance to compete for a roster spot.” — NFL.com
