The joke may be cheesy, but not if you go to the left like Blair Walsh.
Some would take pity on Viking kicker Blair Walsh, who sobbed in the locker room after missing the 27-yard field goal that cost his team the wild-card playoff game against the Seahawks Sunday. Not Zeeks Pizza.
The restaurant tweeted an offer for the “Blair Walsh Special,” a pizza that only has toppings on the left side. Walsh’s kick, you see, was wide to the left.
“It’s been fairly popular,” a well-spoken worker at Zeeks said on air Wednesday when called by Fargo, N.D., radio personality Dan Hammer.
The pizza is half pepperoni, sausage and Canadian bacon. The other half is just cheese.
Zeeks is giving 5 percent of the proceeds from the pizza to Ronald McDonald House Charities, according to the restaurant’s tweet.
The restaurant has another special pizza called the “Legion of Shroom.” It has mushrooms.
Meanwhile, Walsh, who’s been described as “most likely to look like every member of One Direction combined,” was consoled on Thursday by first graders, who wrote him words of support such as “You can still help the Vikings win the Super Bowl next year.”
