After one of wide receiver Jaron Brown’s two touchdown catches Sunday during a comeback win over the Cleveland Browns, three fellow Seahawks joined him in the end zone for a victory dance.
You might have recognized it: Brown, Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf and David Moore bopped in near-perfect time with each other on the choreography from *NSYNC’s “Bye, Bye, Bye” music video.
As Twitter lost its collective mind, the dance caught the attention of the boy band that introduced it to pop culture. It seems they approved.
Brown’s 17-yard catch put the Hawks within striking distance of Cleveland, bringing the score to 20-18 with less than a minute left in the first half. Seattle Times reporter Bob Condotta praised Brown’s nifty footwork, and while Condotta was referring to the fade route, anyone who watched the celebration could be forgiven for thinking otherwise.
Seattle made some big plays after that to ultimately chalk up a 32-28 victory and bring its record to 5-1, the second-best start to a season in team history.
The Seahawks have started to become known for their touchdown celebrations. They were such a frequent occurrence in end zones last year that Seattle Times columnist Matt Calkins put together a (very serious) ranking of them.
