Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said, "I just believe that Jesus loves all people" in relation to North Carolina's transgender bathroom law.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was in the news earlier this week when it was reported that his July wedding to entertainer Ciara was moved from North Carolina to Liverpool, England due to that state’s controversial transgender bathroom law.
The report came from comments via their wedding planner Mindy Weiss from TheKnot.com.
Asked if the report was true after Wednesday’s practice — his first media availability since the news broke — Wilson didn’t comment directly but said: “I just believe that Jesus loves all people. That’s honestly what I believe. And I just always honestly pray for world peace, pray for peace in the world, pray for joy. But my focus honestly is on the Cowboys (the Seahawks host Dallas Thursday) and scoring in the red zone.”
The NBA also recently announced it will move the All-Star game out of the state due to the law.
