MINNEAPOLIS — Doug Baldwin made the catch of the year for the Seahawks in Sunday’s 10-9 wild-card victory over the Vikings.
Of all that Baldwin has accomplished this year — career highs in yards, catches and touchdowns — the play they will replay on loop was his ridiculous one-handed catch against the Vikings.
On third-and-10, Wilson threw a pass high over the middle. Baldwin twisted his body and plucked the ball out of the air with just his right hand (view video below). It looked similar to the amazing one-handed catch Odell Beckham made in 2014.
“It was a beautiful pass by Russell, and he put it in a spot where only I could get the ball,” Baldwin said. “I went up and tried to make a play for it.”
Said Wilson, “Greatest catch I’ve ever seen.”
Baldwin also caught a touchdown pass, which means that he has scored a touchdown in six of his past seven games.
