The Seahawks have only worn a bright green jersey once before: Sept. 27, 2009, a 25-19 home loss to the Chicago Bears. After then head coach Jim L. Mora blamed the loss on superstition of changing the jerseys, they were thrown in the back of the closet, never to be seen again. Until Thursday.
It’s a different variation of the uniforms, but the Seahawks are bringing them back will full force. Firstly, they won’t be trying to match them with their typical blue bottoms. All green, baby.

Secondly, CenturyLink field will be soaked in green, from the lights in the rafters to the end zones on the field.
The team announced the stadium will be “illuminated with spotlights and specialty green lighting treatments.” Here’s a preview of what’s to come:
It will be about an hour past sunset when the Rams and Seahawks kick off Thursday night, but sunglasses might not be a bad idea.
Thankfully for the viewing public, the Rams won’t oppose the Hawks in their mustard-yellow Thursday threads (instead rocking a fresh blue helmet with white horns) But Seattle plans on going all in on featuring its “action green” Color Rush uniforms.
The Sea Gals and Blitz will follow in the players’ leads, ditching their traditional blue garb for the “action green” variety. Blue Thunder, too, will — can you guess? — change its name to Green Thunder for Thursday only. Fans will help wash the stadium in green, too, with rally towels that will be handed out at each entrance. The Seahawks, of course, are encouraging all fans to wear green to the game, too.
Thursday Night Football — or, as Richard Sherman might call it, the Highlighter Poopfest — kicks off at 5:25 p.m. on NBC. Gates to CenturyLink Field will open at 2:30.
