The Seahawks spirit is strong with Boeing, which unveiled a new 12th Man-themed 747-8 freighter Sunday at Paine Field.
As the Seattle region prepares for another hotly anticipated NFL season, Boeing on Sunday rolled another Seattle Seahawks-themed 747-8 freighter out of the paint hangar at Everett’s Paine Field.
You may remember that Boeing painted a 747-8 in Seahawks livery before the team’s appearance in Super Bowl XLVIII in January 2014. One Super Bowl win and one Super Bowl loss later, Boeing has unveiled a new Jumbo Jet for the 12th Man.
The new plane’s paint job is similar to the last, with just a few changes. The biggest difference we can see is a new tagline — “In it to win it!” — painted above the Boeing logo toward the rear of the 747’s fuselage.
Seattleites will get the chance to see the Seahawks 747 when it performs a scheduled flyover of Lake Washington during the Boeing Seafair Air Show on Aug. 2. Boeing said the plane will participate in several other Seahawks-related activities throughout the rest of the year.
