Defender Lauren Barnes scored in the 76th minute, but Sky Blue FC converted a penalty kick in stoppage time as Reign FC settled for a 1-1 tie on Saturday in Piscataway, N.J.

After dominating the attack throughout the second half, Seattle (2-2-1) broke through thanks to Barnes.

A corner kick by midfielder Kim Little was cleared out and Barnes finished with a low, hard shot into the net from 25 yards out.

As the match entered stoppage time, the referee awarded Sky Blue FC (1-2-2) a penalty kick following a scramble in the box that saw midfielder Jessica Fishlock sent off for a handball.

Forward Nadia Nadim buried the ensuing kick past goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer to forge the draw.

The Reign will host a friendly against the Chinese national team May 22 before returning to NWSL action May 30 with a home game against the Chicago Red Stars.
