Washington softball’s Alexis DeBoer was named the Big Ten Player of the Week, and Stevie Hansen was named Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

DeBoer helped the Huskies to a 6-0 record at the Outrigger Invitational in Honolulu while batting .579 with two doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI.

Hansen led the pitching staff with 122/3  shutout innings with a 2-0 record and a save in Hawaii. Opposing batters hit just .095 against her.

The honors are the first for the Huskies this season.

BASKETBALL

Mason Williams scored 20 points, but the Eastern Washington men (10-21, 6-12 Big Sky) couldn’t hold a seven-point halftime lead and fell short of an upset to host Montana 83-72. Andrew Cook added 19 points for the Eagles.

Alexis Pettis scored 21 points and the host Eastern Washington women (11-19, 7-11 Big Sky) held off Montana 80-77 in their final game of the regular season.

GOLF

• Washington’s Jake Foley shot a 2-over 74 and is in a tie for 31st place after the second round of the men’s Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas.

As a team, the Huskies shot 14-over par and remain in 14th place out of the 15 competing teams.

• Washington State’s Madelyn Gamble fired a 36-hole total of 1-over par to finish Day 1 in a tie for 16th place at the women’s Juli Inkster Invitational in Fairfax, Calif.

The Cougars sit in sixth place out of 14 teams at 11-over par.
