Just a couple weeks after being selected No. 12 overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2015 NFL draft, former Husky Danny Shelton is honing his baseball skills. Shelton tossed the ceremonial first pitch on Thursday prior to the Mariners’ opening game against the Red Sox at Safeco Field, and looked good doing it.

The 6-foot-2, 340-pound lineman looked rather graceful on the mound at Safeco Field, firing a strike to Mariners’ closer Fernando Rodney — Shelton even dusted off Rodney’s signature arrow pose after the pitch. And while Shelton likely won’t be hanging up his football spikes for baseball cleats, at least he can say he has experience pitching in the big leagues (well, almost).
