First race: 2 p.m.

1 870 yards, purse $4,400, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $5,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
4 Sharper Knight R Bowen 4 125
6 Cascade Dynamite T Gutierrez 3 125
2 Seventy East D Hoonan 2 125
1 Junos Last Cat Camacho-Flrs 5 125
3 Fastest N Chaves 10 125
5 Bumpy L Lopez 7/2 125

Sharper Knight is very quick and should like this distance. Cascade Dynamite lost by a head in a similar race two weeks ago. Seventy East was third as the 4-5 favorite two weeks ago, but was more than 4 lengths behind the second pick.

2 6 furlongs, purse $8,925, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming $12,500/$10,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
4 Strong Move R Bowen 9/5 124
2 Graytful Harbor Camacho-Flrs 7/2 118
3 Ten Southernlights J Gutierrez 3 118
1 Darrington E Kubinova 6 121
5 Financial Officer J Whitaker 5/2 118

Strong Move has been second in his first two starts of the year, and it was nearly 11 lengths back to the third-place horse in his last race. Graytful Harbor drops in class and is a good fit at this level. Ten Southernlights can improve with a better start.

3 6 furlongs, purse $8,925, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, maiden claiming $12,500/$10,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
2 Better to Be Lucky D Hoonan 9/5 123
5 Jordans Jem J Gutierrez 2 123
4 Sechura E Kubinova 4 123
1 Magic Molly D Lopez 3 117
3 Merry Sherry Camacho-Flrs 10 117

Better to Be Lucky is still looking for her first win in her eighth try, but is coming off her best race and a similar effort could be good enough to win this. Jordans Jem takes a slight jump up in class after finishing second in her career debut. Sechura should improve in her second race after a long layoff.

4 6 furlongs, purse $5,350, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, maiden claiming $5,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
3 Memo’s Star J Gutierrez 5/2 117
8 English Lace I Enriquez 2 123
5 Graceful Minou N Chaves 6 117
1 Milieux R Bowen 15 123
2 One Smart Girl E Kubinova 15 117
4 Mendel’s Law Camacho-Flrs 20 123
6 Valentina Storm D Hoonan 12 123
7 Over Souled D Lopez 3 117
9 Sweet Beach Sanguinetti 8 117

Memo’s Star has run some decent races at Turf Paradise in Phoenix, and that’s enough to give her a slight edge in a weak field. English Lace has finished in the money in her past three races. Graceful Minou has been third three times in her career.

5 6 furlongs, purse $7,450, 3-year-old, claiming $7,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
5 Risky Road Sanguinetti 9/5 119
3 Two o’Clock Draw I Enriquez 7/2 119
8 Sam Jam R Richard 4 119
1 Gone Clever D Hoonan 15 119
2 Mansion Mayhem J Whitaker 12 119
4 Rhinghals D Lopez 10 119
6 Gilmore J Gutierrez 6 119
7 Cinchmeup Camacho-Flrs 6 122

Risky Road deserves another shot after finishing third, beaten by a half-length, two weeks ago as the 4-5 favorite. Two o’Clock Draw is an improving horse. Sam Jam has been in decent form at Golden Gate in Northern California, and he has experience at Emerald.

6 1 mile, purse $4,725, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $2,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
2 Showboat Gambler J Couton 6 124
3 Twist My Kazoo N Chaves 5 124
8 La Capitana Sanguinetti 5/2 124
1 Timely Note I Enriquez 6 124
4 Just Jokin Around C Papineau 15 124
5 Bear Creek Road D Lopez 3 124
6 Windshadows L Lopez 12 124
7 Wingman Willy J Gutierrez 9/2 118

Showboat Gambler has a win and three in-the-money finishes in five starts at a mile, and has a good chance in this weak field. Twist My Kazoo should be close at the end with his typical effort. La Capitana should be among the early leaders, but has to deal with the outside post.

7 6 furlongs, purse $7,450, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $5,000/$4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
5 Grand Baylee D Lopez 2 119
6 Seattle Game I Enriquez 5/2 119
1 Wedge of Gold D Hoonan 3 116
2 Its Diva Time J Matias 8 119
3 Lady Aragorn J Gutierrez 5 119
4 Port Wakefield J Whitaker 6 119

Grand Baylee finished second to the red-hot Roarified last month, her first race of the year. Seattle Game has won 10 of 21 starts at Emerald, but she seemed better last year and will face pace pressure. Wedge of Gold takes a slight jump up in class after an impressive win.

8 6 furlongs, purse $18,900, 3-year-olds and up, AOC $25,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
5 Camp Granada D Lopez 8/5 124
4 Ankeny Hill J Gutierrez 3 118
2 City Twister N Chaves 4 124
1 Bound to Win R Richard 10 118
3 Johnski I Enriquez 5/2 124

Camp Granada was second to a tough horse three weeks ago in his first race in almost two years. Ankeny Hill was impressive winning his career debut last month, but he faces older horses today. City Twister was an impressive winner in his last start.

9 6 ½ furlongs, C and G (colts and geldings), purse $50,000, 3-year-old, Auburn Handicap
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
3 Finallygotabentley J Gutierrez 9/2 118
5 Carving J Matias 8/5 121
1 Music of My Soul D Lopez 4 120
2 Disruption J Couton 6 118
4 Whistle Cat R Bowen 20 114
6 Mike Man’s Gold L Lopez 12 119
7 Forin Sea I Enriquez 8 118
8 Cariboo Road D Hoonan 8 119
9 He’s Not Bluffin C Papineau 15 116

Finallygotabentley has disappointed as the favorite in his past three races, but he is talented and have a hunch he will take a big step forward today. Carving is the deserving favorite after running against some top competition in Southern California, then winning his debut here last month. Music of My Soul, a full brother to the great Noosa Beach, seems to get better and better and it would be no surprise if he won.

10 6 ½ furlongs, purse $6,725, 3-year-old, maiden claiming $7,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
6 Ourshanghaiexpress E Kubinova 4/5 122

4 Everydayimhustlin J Whitaker 6 122
1 Impuregold D Hoonan 8 122
2 Showing Up First L Gonzalez 8 122
3 Tahoe’s Prize J Gutierrez 12 122

Ourshanghaiexpress lost by a head two weeks ago and should win today. Fly Zone can contend with a better start. Everydayimhustlin takes a slight drop in class.

BEST BEST: Ourshanghaiexpress
