SCRATCHED: Brother Greg
Whiskeyonthehouse has been in the money in eight of nine career starts and has a good chance to finally get his first win. Mojave Secret has been in decent form in Northern California. Big Black Cat was a solid third in his career debut a couple of weeks ago.
SCRATCHED: Dark Heat
Twentyten improved a lot in his second start and can win if he continues to make progress. Watch for Trevor hasn’t been working out really fast for his career debut, but his trainer, Tom Wenzel, excels with first-time starters. Country Boy makes his debut for trainer Doris Harwood, who does great work with debuting 2-year-olds.
SCRATCHED: Grindster, He’s Zuberrific
Smart Copy was second to Del Rio Harbor in his debut, and the latter returned to win a stakes race. Noosito is a full brother to Emerald Downs great Noosa Beach and to Music of My Soul, last year’s 2-year-old champion at Emerald. Royal Tale, bought for $35,000 at the Keeneland (Ky.) sale last year, is making his debut.
Snooper Dauper gets a very slight nod in a tough race. He is fast enough to win, but has just one win in 16 tries and has lost his last two as the heavy favorite. Indy Time plunges in class. Timber Bull was well beaten as the favorite last month, but it was his first race in eight months.
SCRATCHED: Roxy Skylar
Wedge of Gold ran an uncharacteristic poor race in her last start and she can rebound. Grand Baylee has been first or second in 11 of 18 career starts. Its Diva Time is in good form.
Orcas Gold drops in class after a troubled trip. Evil Urges has been in the money in five of seven starts at this distance, but has one win in 26 career starts. Slew the Cat has finished in the money in all eight of his career starts.
Popular Pick drops in class after finishing third as the favorite. He scratched out of a race Friday to run in this one. Expenses Paid is tough at this level. Priceless Keith broke his maiden as the 2-5 favorite in his last race.
Saddleranch looked great winning at this distance in his last race, so maybe he can handle the big jump up in class. Polish Dollar loves to win, but this might be farther than he wants to run. Assessment might be ready for a big race and he has a chance to pull off an upset.
Memo’s Star was second at this level two races ago. Truly Unusual plunges in class for her Emerald debut, her first race since April. My Cadi has been third in her past three races.
