Lake Stevens High School quarterback Jacob Eason was named U.S. Army Player of the Year.

Eason, a 6-foot-6 Georgia commit, led Lake Stevens to the semifinals in the 4A state playoffs.

In Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Eason passed for 71 yards.

Men’s basketball

Seattle Pacific shot 66 percent from the field to beat host Concordia 91-63. Mitch Penner had 30 points as the Falcons (10-4, 3-3 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) ended their three-game losing streak.

• Host and conference leader Alaska Anchorage (13-4, 6-0 GNAC) beat Western Washington 87-84. Kyle Impero scored 24 points for the Vikings (9-6, 3-3) and Jeffrey Parker added 21.

• Corban (10-6, 4-4 Cascade Collegiate Conference) beat host Northwest University 85-70. Michael Dupree led NU (7-12, 3-6) with 21 points.

Women’s basketball

Host Montana State Billings (9-5, 5-1 GNAC) defeated Seattle Pacific 61-50. Jordan McPhee and Courtney Hollander scored 10 points apiece for the Falcons (6-7, 3-3), who lost their third straight game.

Jasmin Edwards scored 20 points as Central Washington (10-4, 3-3 GNAC) handed host Western Washington its first conference loss. Kayla Bernsen had 15 points for the Vikings (9-5, 5-1).

• Eastern Washington earned a 74-66 victory over host Idaho (10-5, 2-1 Big Sky). Ashli Payne had 15 points and 16 rebounds for the Eagles (9-6, 3-0).

• Corban (9-7, 5-3 CCC) beat host Northwest University 80-77. Jordan Asher scored 17 points for the Eagles (7-11, 3-6).


Allison Northey took the all-around title (39.225) and Kaitlyn Duranczyk won the bars (9.85) as host Washington (193.725) lost a dual meet against Ohio State (194.275).

• Ariana Harger won the all-around title (38.500) and tied for top honors on the floor exercise (9.75), helping Seattle Pacific (188.750) earn a tri-meet victory over host Air Force (186.950) and Illinois State (188.275).
