First-time starter Big Question has had some nice workouts from the gate, and riding champion Juan Gutierrez had great success for trainer Chris Stenslie last year (15 wins in 27 starts). Private Password was a $300 yearling purchase but showed some early speed last year. Southern Solution had a fast workout Sunday in preparation for his career debut.
|2 5 furlongs, purse $6,725, 3-year-olds, fillies, maiden claiming $7,500|
|5||Full Service||G Mitchell||6/1||122|
|7||House of Hope||J Gutierrez||9/2||122|
|4||Corrinas Seeker||E Kubinova||5/2||122|
|1||Sassy Poppy||D Lopez||5/1||122|

|3||One Smart Girl||J Zunino||15/1||122|
|6||Zaiah’s Gold||J Matias||7/2||122|
Full Service races for trainer Tom Wenzel, who had a great season last year and was 6 of 13 with first-time starters. Give his horse a slight nod, even though horses by his sire, Matty G., have not typically fared well in their first starts. House of Hope ran in two stakes races last year. Corrinas Seeker showed speed (but no staying power) at Golden Gate Fields.
|3 5 ½ furlongs, purse $4,725, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, WCL $2,500|
|3||Legendary Heart||J Gutierrez||7/2||123|

|4||Cee the Lady||G Mitchell||6/1||123|

|2||Courtney’s Prize||D Lopez||6/1||123|
|6||Binky’s Sister||M Hardison||12/1||118|
|8||Fly Away||R Bowen||5/1||123|
Legendary Heart is a good fit in this race for trainer Jeff Metz, who has had success at Turf Paradise in Phoenix and has a stable here for the first time. Tullamore Dew has been in the money in 13 of 20 career starts at Emerald. Cee the Lady has good speed and has won four times in 18 starts at Emerald.
|4 5 ½ furlongs, purse $5,350, 3-year-olds and up, WCL $5,000|
|1||Crescent Bar||J Gutierrez||7/2||124|
|9||Murray the Cop||T Gutierrez||4/1||124|
|3||Shame the Devil||J Matias||8/1||118|
|4||Tahoe’s Prize||R Richard||15/1||118|
|6||Our Blend||M Hagerty||8/1||124|
Crescent Bar has a good chance based on his form last summer, but his lack of speed and the No. 1 post are a bit of a concern. Murray the Cop should be one of the favorites, but he’s still looking for his first win in his 12th start. Spending should be close at the end.
|5 5 ½ furlongs, purse $4,725, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, WCL $2,500|
|1||Denim & Diamonds||D Lopez||7/2||123|

|5||Go Ocho Go||Cmacho-Flrs||8/1||123|
|8||Fiesty Lass||G Mitchell||6/1||123|
Denim and Diamonds has been second in three of four starts this year, and is trained by last year’s champ, Frank Lucarelli. Sea Side Story drops to a career-low level. All the Rage has six wins, four seconds and six thirds in 26 starts at Emerald.
|6 5 ½ furlongs, purse $6,825, 3-year-olds and up, WCL $5,000|

|3||Orlando Xpress||R Richard||8/1||124|
|6||Mr. Top Kat||R Bowen||12/1||124|
|7||He’s Tickled||D Hoonan||10/1||124|
|8||Showboat Gambler||D Lopez||8/1||124|
Silver Sneakers won at this distance in his first start of the meet last year. Just Meteor has excellent speed and might like this short distance. Bleu Tarp has had success at this distance and gets Juan Gutierrez, last year’s leading rider. Willie the Fox takes a drop in class.
|7 5 ½ furlongs, purse $9,975, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $12,500/$10,000|
|6||She’s a Time Bomb||D Lopez||2/1||123|
|2||Way to Go Lo||R Richard||3/1||123|
|4||Jadey Baby||J Torres||12/1||123|
|7||Debbie’s Striker||B Pierce||12/1||123|
She’s a Time Bomb has some ability, and she competed against much better horses last year. Way to Go Lo races for Junior Coffey, who is great year after year. Stephanie Plum won on opening night last year.
|8 5 ½ furlongs, purse $5,675, 3-year-olds and up, WCL $3,500|
|4||A K Racer||D Lopez||3/1||124|
|1||My Mans No Lady||J Gutierrez||5/1||124|
|3||Win Photos Will Do||I Enriquez||8/1||124|
|7||R J’s Prospect||A Snguintti||6/1||124|
|8||Havin a Good Day||D Hoonan||8/1||124|
Marquetching won three times at Ernerald last year. Humongous won at this distance early in the Emerald meet last year. He rarely runs a bad race. A K Racer fits well with this group, and will likely be favored.
Best bet: She’s a Time Bomb
