Miss Odessa has been working out well for a trainer, Charles Essex, who does a great job with first-time starters. Rosie’s Revenge is one of just two horses with experience in the field, and she drops in class after a decent effort in her only race. Simba’s Sis was in the same race as the second pick and lost all chance when she hopped at the start.

Spending is usually in the money and tries a route distance for the first time in his 11th career start. It seems like he should like the extra distance, and maybe he will finally get his first win. Shame the Devil improved a lot while running a mile for the first time in his last start. Maniacal Passion often finishes third.
Big Bad Brown plunges in class, and if is he still sound, he should be too good for this group. Red Colt Fortyfive is very good at this level. War Wizard is a threat to lead from gate to wire.
Camp Pendleton had a terrible trip in his last race, losing a few lengths at the start and then was steadied before altering his course in the stretch. He still finished third and probably would have won with better luck. Ima Royal Prince has a win and two seconds in his last three starts. Seven Demons should be leading early.
Majorca Gold has been facing a lot better, and gets a slight nod in an even race. UntilIfindyou stays at the same level after an easy win, which might not be a good sign. He will likely be favored. Immigration has been in the money 35 times in his career.
This is a tough race to handicap as many in this field have never run this far. Leadership drops in class and finished third in two stakes races at route distances last year. Popular Pick is in good form and was second at this distance last year. Improviso was impressive in winning his Emerald debut in his last race.
Epic Cast is the likely winner if he is ready in his first race since October. Mufaajy will be rallying late and has never been out of the money at this distance. Winorbegone has good early speed.
Best bet: Camp Pendleton
