• The Lummi Nation purchased Loomis Trail Golf Course in Blaine and took over operations Oct. 1. The course, which hosted the 2009 NCAA Division II men’s golf championship, is open for public play. Loomis Trail, which opened in 1993, becomes the state’s seventh tribal-owned course.
• Foster Golf Links is going to offer a par-3 option on all 18 holes through the winter beginning Thursday. Each hole also can be played from its regular distance and tees. A “par-3 shootout” with 18 closest-to-pin prizes is set for Nov. 24.

• Hailey Gaines had 11 kills, but Seattle Pacific (10-13, 8-8 GNAC) was swept by Northwest Nazarene 25-18, 25-21, 25-20.
Cross country
• Eli Boudouris (24:34.0) was seventh and Ben Monk (24:39.4) was eighth at the WAC championships at Jefferson Park Golf Course, leading the Redhawk men to a third-place finish. Utah Valley won the team title. Megan Delorey was 38th (22:19.2) for the Seattle U women, who took seventh. Cal Baptist took the team title.
Women’s soccer
• Leahi Manthei scored twice as Seattle U (8-7-3, 6-1-1 WAC) beat Utah Valley 2-0 to clinch the second seed, and a first-round bye, into next week’s WAC tournament.
• Julia DeVere scored with 11 minutes remaining as Seattle Pacific (12-4-2, 8-3-1) tied No. 16 Concordia 1-1. The Falcons will be at Concordia again Thursday for a GNAC tournament semifinal.
