In case you missed it:

Friday | Red Sox 14, Mariners 10

  • In a rematch of last week’s pitching duel, this certainly wasn’t that. Wade LeBlanc allowed six runs on 11 hits over 4 2/3 innings; Steven Wright served up three home runs and lasted only 3 1/3 innings, allowing 10 runs.
  • Nelson Cruz homered twice and drove in seven, and the Mariners had built a 10-5 lead by the fifth inning. But for the second time in three games, their bullpen imploded and blew a five-run lead.
  • Seattle relievers have allowed 13 runs over the last three games and the team continues to reel, its season-long losing streak up to five games.
