Tonight’s matchup pits a pair of baseball’s best lefties against each other. The Mariners throw James Paxton (12-4, 2.98 ERA), in his second start back since returning from the DL, against the Rangers’ Cole Hamels (10-4, 3.96 ERA). Paxton was limited to 50 pitches in his return and needed all of them to complete just 1 1/3 innings of three-run ball in a 5-2 loss to the Astros. He’s expected to be on about an 80-pitch limit tonight.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. PT. Catch the game on ROOT, 710 AM or streaming on
