Fans have been asking, and the Mariners finally delivered.

Across the PNW, fans will now be able to watch the Mariners on ROOT Sports’ new streaming app, a direct-to-consumer option to avoid local blackouts and a cable subscription.

Here’s what local media and fans in our comments section and across social media are saying about the Mariners’ new streaming option.

Logan Gilbert got the start for Seattle Monday against Milwaukee. The Seattle Mariners played the Milwaukee Brewers in Spring Training baseball Monday, Feb. 24, 2025 at American Family Fields, in Phoenix, AZ. 229402 (Dean Rutz / The Seattle Times)

Excellent news. I still hesitate to give the Ms ownership $120 for the season when they aren’t investing properly in the team, but at least this is a much better option than Fubo for those like me that want to watch Mariners and very little else.user17249575257938

$20 a month??? That’s an absolutely ridiculous price- no other streamers (that have way more content) cost that much per month. It should be at the MOST $10, especially since it’s a new streamer. I will be shocked if this helps viewership. Time to cut ties with Root Sports and make a deal with Amazon Prime and/or do what the Kraken do and show games on Kong.user16401920238710

I would pay 20 a month if they would field a competitive team…. -user867434

A fair price as $20 is the price other teams charge. I don’t have cable in my area, I don’t like FUBO’s channel lineup, and I don’t want a dish attached to my house, so I have really missed watching the Mariners.Robert Rapp (Facebook)

No thanks. The accountant says we don’t have $20 a month to pay for a poor product. Last time we got our money’s worth at Safeco/T-Mobile Park was when Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers played there in 2017.gawlfer

OMG thank you Mariners. Welcome to 2025! Another thing you might want to check out now is other teams are trying to add bats to improve their offense and attempting to achieve greater results than 54%user1077267

This might be worth $20/month if I can subscribe just during baseball season. I calculated that it costs two people at least $65 to sit in T-Mobile’s cheap seats and enjoy a beer and some food. Streaming April-September would cost less than attending two games.Neil Percival

Reading the comments just amazes me how many people want something for nothing. $19.99 per month isn’t that much. Sports is entertainment and a business, not a non profit.user1054236

Now this is excellent news! I still do have Xfinity cable and have been very frustrated by the blackouts and only being able to watch while connected to my home network.Charlatan

Perfect! I can subscribe just for September if they are even still in the mix (they won’t be)ciSBuyQ

This news made my day! I used to be so excited this time of year when baseball season was about to start. Once we cut cable, this time of year became depressing as I realized I would only be watching Mariners if I went to a bar, or went to a game in person. The radio became my best friend, but I sure missed watching the game. It does seem a bit expensive, but I’ll buck up! Go M’s!!!user16534941417950
