Hisashi Iwakuma turned in 52/3 innings in a rehab start as the Tacoma Rainiers pieced together an 8-4 series-opening win over the Las Vegas 51s at Cheney Stadium on Tuesday night.

Iwakuma limited the 51s to one run on five hits and struck out six in his second consecutive rehab start with Tacoma. The right-hander exited the game with two outs in the sixth due to a blister on his throwing hand.

First baseman Jesus Montero led the Rainiers at the plate, going 4 for 5 with a double.
