Lazaro Montes hit one of three home runs for Everett, but the AquaSox gave up five runs in the seventh inning and dropped their home opener, 7-6, to the Hillsboro Hops on Tuesday night.
Josh Caron and Carson Jones also homered, and Michael Arroyo added a double for Everett (2-2)
• Blake Hunt went 2 for 3 with a home run, but the Tacoma Rainiers fell to the visiting Sacramento River Cats 6-1.
Reliever Troy Taylor allowed three runs on two hits and a walk and didn’t record an out in the fourth inning.
Ben Williamson had a double for Tacoma (5-5).
COLLEGE BASEBALL
• Malakhi Knight’s RBI groundout scored the go-ahead run following an RBI single from Casen Taggart as host Washington rallied with two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat Seattle U 4-3.
The Huskies improved to 17-17 and the Redhawks fell to 12-20.
GOLF
Washington’s Vivian Lu shot a second straight 1-under 71 and sits in a tie for sixth place heading into the final round of the Silverado Showdown on Tuesday in Napa, Calif.
Seattle U’s Rivekka Jumagulova shot a 2-over 74 and is tied for 24th in a tightly contested field.
As a team, Washington is tied for ninth and Seattle is in 15th place out of 16 schools.
• Seattle U’s Kevin Lishot a two-round total of 3-under 141 on Tuesday and finished at 4-under par overall and in fifth place at the conclusion of the UCSB Gaucho Invite in Santa Barbara, Calif.
As a team the Redhawks finished in sixth place out of 11 schools in the final match of the regular season.
HOCKEY
• Lukas Kaplan scored just over 13 minutes into the second overtime, and the Everett Silvertips beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 1-0 late Monday night to win the opening-round playoff series 4-2.
Raiden LeGall had 57 saves for the Silvertips, who advanced to the Western Conference semifinals to face the Portland Winterhawks in a best-of-seven series beginning Friday night in Everett.
