Kraken 3, Islanders 2, at Climate Pledge Arena

Notable: The Kraken won their season-high fourth straight game rallying from a 2-1 deficit in the third period to beat the Islanders. Jared McCann’s goal pulled the Kraken even less than a minute after the Islanders took the lead early in the third period. Jamie Oleksiak provided the game-winner with 3:13 left on a play set up by the Kraken fourth line of Yanni Gourde, Brandon Tanev and Tye Kartye. The four-game win streak is the longest for the Kraken since winning nine straight last season between late December and early January.

Quotable: “Thank you for noticing.” — Gourde when told he looked really happy after his first goal of the season.

Goal of the game: McCann’s ninth of the season couldn’t have been timed better and was set up by a terrific pass from Andre Burakovsky playing on the top line with Jordan Eberle sidelined. Burakovsky’s pass found McCann on a breakaway and was critical after the Islanders scored a short-handed goal to take the lead.

Player of the game: Gourde’s goal was a justified reward for the work of the fourth line. The goal wasn’t pretty, but it seemed appropriate that Tanev and Kartye both picked up assists on the goal. Gourde also assisted on Oleksiak’s winner and had his first multi-point game this season.

On tap: The Kraken finish off their New York back-to-back hosting the Rangers on Sunday. It’s the opener of a four-game road trip for the Rangers, who are 5-1-0 away from home this season. The Kraken are 1-5-0 all-time against the Rangers.
