The Kraken’s full 2024-25 schedule dropped Tuesday morning as the team opened development camp at Kraken Community Iceplex.
As announced Monday, the Kraken will open the upcoming season at Climate Pledge Arena in a Tuesday matinee against the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 8. It will mark the debut of new head coach Dan Bylsma, and his first regular-season NHL game behind the bench since April 9, 2017.
Should he make the cut, Seattle will get its first look at 2024 top overall pick Macklin Celebrini during a home-and-home with the San Jose Sharks on Nov. 29-30. The Florida Panthers, defending Stanley Cup champions, stop by Dec. 10.
The NHL’s newest franchise, known as Utah Hockey Club for now, visits Climate Pledge Arena in the last game of 2024 on Dec. 30. They’re in town again March 14. The Kraken won’t visit Delta Center for the first time until April 8.
The longest homestand of the season is from Nov. 8-20, when the Kraken host six straight games. They have the New York teams on back-to-back nights — Islanders (Nov. 16), then Rangers (Nov. 17).
The Kraken play three games at home in February before the NHL enjoys a two-week break (Feb. 9-21) for an unusual reason. Instead of scattering for the All-Star Game or the Olympics, select players will participate in the 4 Nations Face-Off in Boston and Montreal. The United States, Canada, Finland and Sweden will field teams. The NHL and NHL Players’ Association revealed the first six players that will make up the respective rosters for the tournament last week, but no Kraken players were on the list.
The Kraken’s regular season ends April 15 at home against the L.A. Kings.
