Auburn Riverside won the state volleyball title last year in its first year playing in the 4A classification.

Apparently the volleyball coaches around the state think the Ravens have a good shot to do it again as they ranked them No. 1 among Class 4A teams in the first state poll of the season, released Monday.

Lakeside, which won its first Class 3A state title last season. checks in at No. 2 behind Mount Spokane and just ahead Of Mercer Island. Lakeside beat Mount Spokane for the state title.

Archbishop Murphy, which finished third last year, is ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, two spots ahead of defending state champs Tumwater.
