It’s no secret Felix Hernandez thrives in big moments for the Mariners, and in baseball’s regular season, there are few spotlights brighter than Opening Day.

The 28-year-old ace has already graced the mound on Opening Day seven times for the Mariners, sporting an impressive 5-0 record with a 1.55 ERA in those starts. Whether it’s in Oakland, Seattle or Tokyo, nothing rings in the Mariners season quite like a quality King Felix start, and maybe a celebratory roar to go with it.

The Mariners — having won their last eight Opening Day games — will once again look to start the season untarnished, as Hernandez gets the nod against the Los Angeles Angels of Aneheim at 1:10 p.m. on Monday at Safeco Field.
