Seattle University defender Kyle Bjornethun has been named the NSCAA Men’s Soccer Division I National Player of the Week after a weekend in which the Redhawks upset a pair of ranked Pac-12 opponents.

Bjornethun, a junior from Snohomish, scored twice in the final 1:36 of the match as Seattle U. stunned No. 13 Oregon State two days after it beat No. 10 Washington at home. Bjornethun has already been named National Player of the Week by College Soccer News and Offensive Player of the Week by the Western Athletic Conference for the feat.

Seattle U. (7-2-0) earned their first national ranking of the 2015 season this week, coming in at No. 24 in the NSCAA and nine places back of fifteenth-ranked rival UW (4-1-3).
