SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga basketball coach Mark Few and his wife Marcy are the 2008 recipients of the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame Nell and John Wooden Coaching Achievement Award.

The award, to be presented June 24 in Boise, Idaho, honors a couple who have made exceptional contributions to their players. Few is the first active coach to win since its inception in 2003.

Few’s program rates high in graduation rates and has had eight players drafted by the NBA since 1997. The Fews are deeply involved in the Coaches vs. Cancer effort.

The World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame recognizes people in athletics who distinguish themselves as role models.
