MOUNT VERNON — Montreaux West, a new community of one- and two-story homes in scenic Mount Vernon, will host a grand opening event on Feb. 29, with a furnished model home available for tours, plus refreshments and a prize drawing.

The community, by local builder Lungren Homes, offers relaxed luxury living surrounded by greenspace, parks, trails and a protected wildlife area, with territorial views of the North Cascades.

Forty-one homes are planned at Montreaux West, 27 of them situated around a central drive called Rainier Loop. Another 14 homes can be reached via a cul-de-sac called Adams Court, which connects with two parks and crosses a protected wildlife area.

Of the 41 homes, three are sold and seven are available for move-in. Home features include dens, lofts, main-floor masters, covered patios and three-car garages. Each homesite is level and fully landscaped with a fenced backyard. In total, home shoppers can choose between six different floor plans.

The largest of the plans offers four or five bedrooms, 3.25 baths, a den and loft, and a two- or three-car garage in 2,850 square feet. That home plan, currently priced from $609,950, won a Best of Home Design award from the New Home Council at a previous Lungren Homes community.

The charming rambler plans include three bedrooms, 2–2.5 baths and two- or three-car garages, starting from $529,950. One of these plans, the 1871, is the furnished model home on display.

Luxury features include open kitchen and living areas, state-of-the-art appliances, slab granite countertops and custom wood cabinets, says Tanya Foster, TeamBuilder KW community sales manager.

“Montreaux West is located in the desirable hilltop neighborhood of Mount Vernon, within easy driving distance to downtown, grocery stores and the area’s beautiful attractions,” Foster says. “We are conveniently situated between Seattle and Bellingham — a perfect choice for families who may need to go into the city on occasion, but prefer home to be in a relaxed country setting. Plus, we’re a hop, skip and jump to the ferries for San Juan Island access.”

Foster attributes much of the neighborhood’s appeal to its large private greenbelt lots, trees and walking trails, and touts the close proximity to good schools, transit corridors and Little Mountain Park. Montreaux West is also next to Eaglemont Golf Course, one of Golf Digest’s top-rated courses in Washington.

The Woodinville-based builder, Lungren Homes, has been busy creating popular communities all over Western Washington, and they were excited to put their stamp on Montreaux West.

“The large variety of plans available at Montreaux West make it a very special community,” says Dan Lungren, president of Lungren Homes. “We feel like there is something for just about everybody here, even though there are only 41 homes.”

Visitors at the Feb. 29 grand opening event will have a chance to learn about opportunities for presales on future lots that have some interior customization options. The build time for those homes is approximately four months from foundation to completion, Foster says.

“We anticipate a great spring with a high level of customer interest,” Foster says. “So far we have received quite a few calls and we’re excited for the party on Feb. 29.”
