SHELTON, Wash. (AP) — A hiker has been rescued after sliding down a canyon wall beneath the High Steel Bridge in Mason County.

KOMO-TV reports emergency responders had to perform a high-risk tactical operation Saturday to bring the 25-year-old woman to safety.

A rescuer had to be lowered more than 350 feet off the bridge over the Skokomish River into the narrow, rocky canyon.

The woman was hoisted up to a helicopter and flown to a hospital.

Rescuers say she had been alive but unresponsive when she was rescued.

There was no update on her condition Sunday.
