The accident happened just after 7 p.m. Sunday as the victim tried to cross railroad tracks in Edmonds, police said. Her husband was not hurt.
A woman who was hit and killed by a train in Edmonds on Sunday night has been identified as Jade K. Reed, 41, of Lynnwood, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Reed died of multiple blunt-force injuries and her death has been ruled an accident, the medical examiner and Edmonds police said.
Reed and her husband were walking near the tracks in the 6100 block of 75th Place West about 7:10 p.m. when she was hit by a northbound Amtrak train, police said. Her husband was not injured.
Police said Reed was apparently walking across the tracks when she was hit by the train, which carried no passengers at the time of the accident.
Police have closed their investigation.
