A Redmond woman in her mid-20s was found dead inside her unit at the Valley View Apartments this morning.

There are obvious signs of trauma and crime-scene investigators are treating her death as suspicious, said Redmond police spokesman Jim Bove. Police do not believe the woman’s death is a suicide, he said.

The woman’s father, who lives outside the country, hadn’t heard from his daughter in a couple of days so he called a friend to check on her, Bove said. Around 9 a.m., the friend entered the woman’s apartment in the 8900 block of Redmond-Woodinville Road Northeast and called 911.

Redmond officers responded, confirmed that the woman was dead and then left the apartment to wait for State Patrol crime-scene investigators, who arrived at the apartment complex around 1 p.m., Bove said. They are now processing the scene.

Redmond detectives are speaking to the woman’s friends and co-workers, trying to determine when she was last seen alive, Bove said. It isn’t clear yet if the woman — who lived and worked in Redmond — died this morning or sometime this weekend, he said.
