Stick out the rain for a couple more days, Seattle; warm weather and sunshine are on the other side.

“The week ahead will be a tale of two halves,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Dustin Guy.

The first half of the week, into Wednesday, is going to bring scattered showers every day along with some cooler temperatures with lows in the mid-40s and highs in the mid-50s.

If Seattle catches a break Tuesday and Wednesday night around 9 p.m., clear skies could reveal the star clusters Pleiades and Hyades. Pleiades, also called the Seven Sisters, takes a formation similar to the Little Dipper and would be the size of your thumb when you stick your arm out. Hyades, about three times larger, will appear as a V.

But “it’s not looking particularly great if you’re going to be doing some stargazing,” Guy said.

Maybe the next few days of sun will be a good trade. Seattle got just a taste of the sunshine and heat last Tuesday before thunderstorms rolled in Wednesday

A ridge of high pressure will replace the low pressure trough, causing the air to sink and bringing warmer temperatures and more sunshine starting Thursday, Guy said.

That means we’re looking at clearer skies and mostly sunny days with highs rising from the mid-50s on Thursday to the low 70s over the weekend.
