A broken water main flooded a northeast Spokane intersection Thursday night, blocking traffic and spilling into basements of several nearby homes.

City water crews turned off the flow in about an hour. Firefighters waded through knee-deep water to clear drains.

Dan Kegley with the Water Department said at least two homes have water damage and the owners can file claims.
