A fire in a Kirkland condominium complex Saturday night damaged nine units and displaced a dozen residents.

The fire started about 7:30 p.m. at the three-story Arrowood Condominiums in the 12700 block of Northeast 129th Court, according to dispatchers. Firefighters from five surrounding cities responded, said Kirkland fire battalion chief Mike Jeffery.

Two residents on the second floor noticed smoke and started alerting other residents to get out, according to KING 5. Jeffery said the blaze was brought under control in 20 to 30 minutes. Three condos sustained heavy fire damage. Smoke damage in six other units forced those residents to also evacuate. Jeffery said no one was injured, but the Red Cross was called to help the displaced homeowners find shelter for the night.

The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation, he said.
