All northbound lanes have reopened on the Alaskan Way Viaduct at Royal Brougham Way after an early morning wrong-way crash, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Officials are investigating after a car going southbound in the northbound lanes crashed into a motorcycle around 2:30 a.m. Friday, according to Seattle police. The 55-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are investigating if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

While all lanes have reopened, traffic remains heavy on Highway 99. A second crash at South Atlantic Street added to the congestion, WSDOT said.
