A 19-year-old woman’s leg was slashed Sunday by a boat propeller on Lake Washington, causing what medics described as severe but not life-threatening injuries.
She was taken by a Seattle police boat to Leschi Marina, where the Fire Department took her to Harborview Medical Center. She was alert and talking, said Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore.
The incident at 2:29 p.m. took place during the Seafair hydroplane races and air show, offshore from South Seattle, where crowds of people watch from boats, rafts and inflatables in the lake. \
Police confirmed the accident happened in the log-boom area.
